The Cazenovia Central School District has performed their lead testing as required by NYS law, which allows us to ensure our systems are at safe levels. Per state mandated testing of all potential sources within the school buildings, the District has collected samples from all potable (drinkable) taps and has received test results for all school buildings at this time. Of the 222 taps tested, only five samples exceeded the maximum contaminant level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). Other than the areas identified below, all other areas fell well within the limits for acceptable drinking water: room 41’s sink at BS 26 ppb, room 44’s upper sink at BS 96 ppb, room 201 at the middle school with 23 ppb, room 202 at the middle school with 28 ppb, room 211 at the middle school with 26 ppb, and girls locker room right sink at the high school with 29 ppb. The District closed and replaced these outlets as appropriate and received testing results back on all retests to be negative or less than countable amounts of lead content. Overall, we are very pleased with these testing results. These results will be posted to our website and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Geoff Brown, Director of Facilities by Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail: 31 Emory Ave, Cazenovia, NY 13035.
