The talents of many Cazenovia students were on display Saturday, February 2nd as youth who excel in the field of music were recognized as members of the Zone 3 New York Area All State Concerts. Congratulations to our proficient and exceptional student musicians.
Area All State brings together the top musicians from the Central New York State region for a two-day festival, where students rehearse new pieces with their selected conductors on the Friday before the concerts, followed with more practice and the performances. The concerts included a Treble Chorus, Mixed Chorus, Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Band. The conductors chosen for these groups have extensive performing, directing and teaching resumes and all currently conduct and teach groups on the college and professional level.
This year the concerts were held at the Anderson Center of SUNY Binghamton. Students selected to attend the Zone Three Festival included: Treble Chorus: Annie Baldwin, Mixed Chorus: Angelo Annotto, Clari Atherlay, Jon Benn, Emma Chesbrough, Ronan DeFanti, Kate Martellock, CJ Monroe, Arianna Papini, Jonathan Streeter, Jackson Wright, Symphony Orchestra: May Braaten, Noah DeRochie, Claire Edwards, Justin Gagnon, Symphonic Band: Emmie Dolbear, Olivia Emerson, Hannah Matteson, Emma Wardell. Guest Conductors were Dr. William Culverhouse from Binghamton University (Treble Chorus), Dr. Amy Vorhees from Susquehanna University (Mixed Chorus), Phil Preddice from the Commack school district (Symphony Orchestra) and Daniel Fabricius on the Performing Arts Faculty at Binghamton University (Symphonic Band).
