Burton Street Elementary School’s state-of-the-art playground has been a major success in the Cazenovia Central School District.
The playground boasts several new safety and accessibility features that were not previously available.
“Everything out there has been improved safety wise,” Director of Facilities Geoff Brown said. “Our safety ramp gives us ADA accessibility to the playground that we really didn’t have before.”
Handling the daunting task of planning and installing this magnificent playground, the district spent countless hours making this playground a reality for our children.
“The planning process was three years in advance of really starting the job itself,” Brown said. “From the time the project kicked off to its completion there’s in excess of 6,000 man hours to do the work that is out there right now.”
And while this project may have been a big one, it has also brought a rewarding feeling for Brown and his team.
“I don’t know that there’s anything better than seeing everyone out there smiling and enjoying what we’ve been able to do for them,” Brown said. “It has been phenomenal.”
