
Mr. Bob Dubik threw out the first pitch on opening day at the new ball park back during the spring of 2011. The field will now be known as Robert S. Dubik Field.
The Cazenovia C.S.D. and the Cazenovia Board of Education is pleased to announce that it will be naming its varsity baseball field after former Superintendent, Mr. Robert S. Dubik. A naming ceremony is planned for this Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the baseball field, which is located inside the Sean M. Googin Sports Complex on Fenner Rd. in Cazenovia.
Starting at 2:00 p.m. Cazenovia Superintendent, Mr. Matthew Reilly, will welcome those in attendance and introduce our special guests. The Cazenovia Chamber Choir will sing the “National Anthem” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. After a few additional remarks, the new field signage will be unveiled. There will be free baseball fare (hot dogs, drinks, snacks) available to those in attendance. The event is open to all.
The field is being named Robert S. Dubik Field in honor of Mr. Bob Dubik. Bob Dubik passed away suddenly from illness just a few months after his retirement in 2014. One of the signs at the field will read as follows:

Dedicated June 2016 in honor of Mr. Robert S. “Bob” Dubik, retired Superintendent of the Cazenovia CSD. Bob was an avid fan of the game of baseball, an esteemed high school and college baseball umpire, CCSD Superintendent when this baseball field was designed and built, a career educator and most importantly a loving father and husband.
