In the recent 2019 rankings released by Buffalo Business First for academics, Cazenovia was positioned 4th overall among 431 Upstate New York Schools. Falling just behind Pittsford (Rochester), Fayetteville-Manlius (Syracuse), and Honeoye Falls-Lima (Rochester) for overall performance, Cazenovia ranked 4th best based on strong results across a broad spectrum of academic performance measures for its entire K-12 system.
From the recent Buffalo Business First article by G. Scott Thomas on September 30, 2019,
“Business First analyzed the academic records of 431 Upstate school districts this year, based on a broad range of test data from the New York State Education Department. Each district’s rank reflects the collective performance of its elementary, middle and high schools from 2015 to 2018, the most recent four-year period for which comprehensive statistics are available.”
Cazenovia School Superintendent, Matt Reilly is pleased with the results of the rankings, and realizes a District’s success is based on more than analysis of performance measures. Reilly states, “Congratulations and thanks to our students, faculty, staff, and community on these recognitions. While we value the many areas that the metrics measure, we also recognize the importance of the attributes of our students that are less easily measured like compassion, citizenship, persistence, humor, and confidence. In these areas and others, our students excel above any that I have had the honor of working with.”
