On Saturday March 16th the Cazenovia Aggies FFA Chapter hosted the New York State Central Region Leadership Development Events for FFA members from all over central and northern New York. Over 150 FFA members competed in 12 different speaking and presentation competitions including Extemporaneous Public Speaking and Parliamentary Procedure. There were an additional 100 community members, parents, and FFA advisors in attendance to help judge, coordinate, and give support to the different events.
High School Principal, Molly Hagan, who served as a judge in Prepared Public Speaking and Employment Skills stated, “I was immensely impressed with the skill sets that students demonstrated during this sub-state competition. Ms. Millan’s strong organizational skills, commitment as our “Aggie’s” advisor, and dedication to Agricultural Education, collectively made this event an outstanding opportunity for our Cazenovia FFA students and participants from across the state.”
One of three regional events held in the state, the top two competitors in each competition will go on to represent their chapter in the state finals held at the New York State FFA Convention being held at the On Center in Syracuse, NY this May.
