The AD team competed in the interview and speech portion (a prepared 4-minute speech and an impromptu 2-minute speech) of the competition Friday evening, and then participated in the written and Super Quiz contests all day Saturday. David’s speech was “How to be a Hipster,” and Joe’s was “The Right to Bear Bears.” “Both were entertaining and witty,” Ms. Brenneck and Mr. Kelly said in an email. The team now advances to the national competition in Minneapolis, April 24-27.
