Cazenovia earned the honor by adding three new AP courses in the past two years: AP U.S. Government and Politics and AP World History last year and AP Studio Art this year. Cazenovia High School also offers AP courses in biology, calculus, chemistry, English language and composition, English literature and composition, physics and U.S. history. Last year, Cazenovia High School had 136 students enroll in AP courses and take a total of 243 exams. “As a school, our average scores are consistently higher than the New York state and global averages,” Cazenovia High School Principal Eric Schnabl said. “Last year, 80 percent of our total AP students scored a 3.0 or better, compared to 68 percent in New York and 61 overall.” As of last year, Cazenovia boasted:
- 11 AP Scholars, with a 3.0 or higher on three of more AP exams taken (average 3.17 out of 5);
- 11 AP Scholars with Honors, with a 3.25 or higher on all AP exams taken (average 3.7 out of 5); and
- 12 AP Scholars with Distinction, with an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken (average 4.17 out of 5).
