The 2021-22 School Budget Vote will be held May 18th at Burton Street Elementary School.
The annual Budget vote for the fiscal year 2021-2022 by the qualified voters of the Cazenovia Central School District, Madison County, New York, will be held in-person and by absentee ballot, on May 18, 2021. New this year, voting will be held in the back gymnasium at Burton Street Elementary School located at 37 Burton Street in the village of Cazenovia. Polls open at 12pm and close at 9pm.
Absentee ballots will be accepted by mail until 5pm on 5/18/21. Contact Janet Goris, District Clerk for more information about absentee ballots.
#1 – Authorize the Cazenovia Central School District to expend $32,746,000 in the 2021-22 school year. This represents a 5.46% spending increase. This is supported by a 1.18% tax levy increase which is at the NYS tax cap levy limit.
#2 – Authorize the Cazenovia Central School District to borrow funds to purchase two (2), 65-passenger replacement school buses, and one (1) 24-passenger school bus at a maximum total cost of $296,174. The borrowed funds will be paid back over a five-year period. The district will receive state aid annually on the purchase. Our current transportation aid rate is 67.2 percent.
#3 – Authorize the levy of a Library Tax to support the Cazenovia Public Library in the amount of $435,221.76 and the New Woodstock Free Library in the amount of $177,680 for a total of $612,901.76.
