Introducing New Faculty: Lauren Perry, 1st Grade

Written by on . Posted in *District News, ES News

Over the next few days the District will introduce our new faculty members with brief online biographies and photos of our new members of the team.

Our first introduction is Miss Lauren Perry, 1st Grade at Burton Street School.

Please join us in welcoming Miss Lauren Perry to the elementary school as a 1st grade teacher. Miss Perry earned her Master’s degree in Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland in 2019. She is currently certified in grades 1-6. Previously, she received her B.F.A. degree in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and worked as a junior art director at an advertising agency for several years.

Miss Perry graduated from Manlius Pebble Hill School where she participated in soccer, track, and the volunteer club. Before coming to Burton Street Elementary, Miss Perry was a student teacher at the Homer Intermediate School, as well as Rockwell Elementary in Nedrow.

When asked who influenced her decision to pursue a career in education, she responded, “I have had and interacted with so many enlightening teachers, professors, and creative individuals over the years that have inspired me to grow as an educator. I am so excited to begin this new adventure with all of you.”

While not teaching at our elementary school, Miss Perry can be found spending time with her family and friends or hiking in the Adirondacks.
