NHS Culinary Feat by: Susan Vickers The 2015-2016 school year is off and running with five Sectional Titles acknowledging athletic accomplishments, and the largest National Honor Society induction ceremony in years acknowledging academic and community service excellence. On December 3rd 53 students will be inducted into the Cazenovia National Honor Society, and the reception that follows will showcase culinary treats created by their peers. At the start of the school year the schedule found a large number of students with periods 6 and 7 open on odd days, so the counseling office proposed adding a Gourmet Foods class. By offering the class the students would be able to learn something valuable in lieu of sitting in study halls. Approved by administration, Mrs. Kellstrand agreed to take on the last minute class. When asked about the class Mrs. Kellstrand just bubbles with enthusiasm about their progress, respect for one another, and the sheer fun that occurs each class. Taking their culinary prowess a little further, the class was asked if they would like to bake the treats for the National Honor Society reception, and the reply was a resounding yes. The following photos are of some of the students in the class.
