PTSA Shoe Drive Fundraiser

Written by on . Posted in *District News, Featured Posts, HS News, News

The Cazenovia High School PTSA is doing a very special and unique fundraiser. It’s a shoe drive fundraiser. During this fundraiser, the PTSA is asking everyone we can think of in the community to help us by donating their clean, gently worn, used and new shoes. From now until March 31, 2022, donations of gently worn, used and new shoes will be accepted. The amount of money raised is determined by the total weight of the shoes collected.  This fundraiser is perfect for anyone with unwanted shoes that still have some life left in them. All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses. In the US alone, over 600 million pairs of shoes are thrown away per year. The materials used to manufacture a pair of shoes are created from chemical compounds that will create health hazards if left to disintegrate openly or in landfills. By donating your gently worn, used and new shoes to the CHS PTSA, the donated shoes are given a second chance to make a difference. Shoe donation boxes are located in the High School portico and locations in the village like Buyea’s Hardware, Pewter Spoon and Kinney Drugs. Place unwanted shoes into any donation box, and the CHS PTSA will do the rest. For more information, please visit the CHS PTSA website at
