2024-25 safety plan proposal available for public review

The Cazenovia Central School District and board of education evaluates the district safety plan each year to ensure updated procedures are in place to handle a wide range of possible emergencies. Having a comprehensive plan in place is a critical component of school management and student safety. 

The district presented the proposed 2024-25 District Safety Plan to the board of education and held a public hearing during the July 8 board meeting. Your input is an important part of the review process. You can send your feedback on the proposed plan to Director of Facilities Eric Benedict at ebenedict@caz.cnyric.org through Aug. 12. 

The board anticipates voting to adopt the plan Aug. 12. 

The district maintains a public School District Safety Plan and confidential building-level School Safety Plans, in accordance with New York state’s Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (S.A.V.E.) Law. The public district-level plan is available for review on the district website and upon request in each school building.
