Provide Rockefeller Institute with State Education Funding Formula input by Sept. 6
Aug. 15, 2024
The Rockefeller Institute of Government at SUNY is conducting a study of the state’s Foundation Aid formula for schools. The formula is used to determine how much money is allocated to each school district across the state.
As part of the study, researchers are collecting written comments until Friday, Sept. 6, through an online form and conducting multiple hearings across the state for public comment. The Institute has until Dec. 1, 2024, to assess the formula and submit recommendations to the state, which could include formula modifications.
The Cazenovia Central School District and Board of Education is submitting testimony. You can read it here.
“This is our chance as a district and community to have a voice in how funding is distributed to districts across the state,” said Cazenovia Central School District Superintendent Christopher DiFulvio. “We faced a difficult budget development season for the 2024-25 school year, and we want to make sure residents know their opinion matters and we’re trying to make that process easier.”
